JOAN H. P. FRICKE
Assistant Choreographer | she/her
Joan Fricke is a first-generation, multidisciplinary artist. She currently dances with B. Dunn Movement as Assistant Choreographer, and immersive dance-theatre creators, Iris Company. Joan has most recently worked with Acts of Matter, Carlon, Bryn Cohn + Artists, and A. Ordaz Dance. Aside from fellow independent LA artists, Joan’s stage credits also include Zoe Scofield, Troy Ogilvie, Yuanyuan Wang, Don Martin, Jiří Kylián and Hans Van Manen. Joan’s choreographic works have been presented by various LA venues, and include collaborations with Grammy-Award winning musician and composer, Alex Wand, and composer Jaco Wong of C3LA Choir. She uses voice and choreography to investigate the nonlinear existence of time and space.

Nadia Maryam is a 2020 graduate of California Institute of the Arts. Under the umbrella of commercial and concert work alike, she works as a performer, choreographer, filmmaker and collaborator in order to fulfill her interest in exploring the use of the body as a personal archive. In her recent years of work, Nadia has had the opportunity to study and perform works by Alvin Ailey, Ohad Naharin, and Jiri Kylian. In 2019, allow an easement, a choreographic work Nadia developed with Kayla Aguila was adapted into a dance film created in collaboration with Audrey Collette and Simon Gulergun. The film remains successful in its achievement of being projected, and awarded for its quality at the Hammer Museum. Most recently, Nadia became a member of Invertigo Dance Theater-- a Los Angeles based dance company directed by Laura Karlin. Maryam is active and consistent in her mission to capture the visceral beauty of emotion and sensitivity using a multi-disciplinary vessel of text and movement. In merging humanity, physicality, and balancing sensations such as effort and pleasure, she believes the work created and performed can challenge boundaries of self, colleagues, and interpreters.

Dominique, a native of Lakeland, Florida, began his training in dance at Florida Dance Theatre in 2005 becoming a trainee with their professional company in 2008. He moved to Philadelphia and joined Smoke, Lilies and Jade under Zane Booker. After 2 seasons he received a full scholarship to study at the Alonzo King LINES Ballet training program. Throughout his dance experience Dominique collaborated and danced for artists including Earl Mosley, Brigette Dunn-Korpela, Ferdinand DeJesus, Carol Krajacic-Erkes, Lennie Meek re-staging Lar Lubovich Concerto 622, Norbert De La Cruz III, James Sewell, Amanda Miller, Gregory Dawson, Alonzo King, Sidra Bell, Renee Redding Jones, Kevin Wynn, Yuri Zhukov, and others.

Brance William Souza is a California native living in the Los Angeles area. He holds a BFA in Dance Choreography and Performance from California Institute of the Arts, graduating in 2015. As a freelancer, Brance has had the pleasure of working with so many wonderful people. Recent credits include Blender TV’s PSA F*** Politics, Accept (Who I Am) with America’s Got Talent contestant Butterscotch, and Damn Yankees with Cabrillo Music Theatre’s John Todd. Mr. Souza currently dances as one of the original company members of B. Dunn Movement (dir. Brigette Dunn-Korpela) and Fabe (dir. Mallor Fabian). Recently, Mr. Souza had the opportunity of Assistant Directing and Choreographing Cabrillo Stage’s Rent, marking his first experience in Directing.
